Doris Amsterdam Bachmann CEO, Founder

Doris Amsterdam Bachmann

Doris is a graduate of  Finch College with a BA in Art History/ Economics and “The New York School of Interior Design” with a Masters in Fine Arts.

In the mid 1980’s, Doris had an idea to “Create, Aesthetically Pleasing Bath Environments, Utilizing State of the Art Equipment.” when no one else was doing this. She was a pioneer, opening a Showroom with 15 people, which included Design, Intricate Architectural Drawings, of all the Details & Specifications of Baths, Whirlpools, Faucetry, Elaborate Shower Systems, Steam, Designer Medicine & Storage Cabinets, Tile, Marble, Stones, Custom Cabinetry, Slab Material Fabrication, Custom Shower Doors, Outdoor Showers, etc. in Bergen County, NJ.

During the time Doris specialized in Luxury Baths her clients at the time, age 25-40, were building new homes or renovating homes from $ 750K to $ 10 million dollars and almost all the homes had an average of 10 bathrooms. “Every Master Bath was like, recreating the wheel”, she says. She has won  “Five National Design Awards” for her expertise and work in Luxury New Homes and Renovations Design/Build Market.

Doris’ work has been featured in many print and online publications including; Newsweek, “The Wall Street Journal,” Eyewitness News in a 5 minute spot, “ The New York Times Sunday Magazine Section,” Garden State Home & Garden, New Jersey Monthly, “Baths & More by Professional Designers” among many others.

After closing her showroom she went on to launching her full-service design firm, DAB Interior Design, Inc. Doris, brings a striking sense of style, taste, enthusiastic, vivacious,  personality and an expertise in all things decor and lifestyle. Doris thrives on creating homes that are eclectic, unique, functional and fabulous, while maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere. She prides herself on her ability to capture her client’s individual personalities in their homes.

DAB Interior Design’s team takes interior design projects from pre-construction through the decorating details and finishing touches. Doris feels that the best interior design work comes from the collaboration of her creative vision, knowledge and expertise with the needs and lifestyles of her clients!

Doris is inspired by everything around her and always says, “You never know where you’re going to find inspiration, so always have an open eye and an open mind.” Her positive energy follows her wherever she goes!

Damian is a unique New York City based Contractor, who works with DAB Interior Design. He is unsurpassed in the fine art of giving life to architectural interiors as well as custom cabinetry and woodwork, with a clear and comprehensible mission that has been driving his success – and the success of his clients – for years. Our ideology can be summed up in one simple statement:

The essence, primary guiding principle and business approach.

The success of each construction project depends on the talent and dedication of the tradespeople whose job it is to bring that project to life. My staff has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of renovation work, regardless of whether it is a high-rise apartment or a 3-story Brownstone. Employing experienced and highly skilled European craftsmen allows us to handle custom-designed projects with a range of complexity.

Quality craftsmanship is very important, but we believe that success begins with real collaboration. That is why we enjoy our collaboration with Doris so much. She is the consummate professional! We listen carefully, analyze DAB Interior Design plans/ideas and offer practical solutions as a resource to Doris and her design staff. Jeanne Isaacson Architect and Interior Designer

Jeanne Isaacson


Jeanne is an innovative designer with 28 years of experience in the field of architecture. Her strength is in developing dynamic creative solutions that are both unique and relevant to the specific program and context. She earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree with honors from the Cooper Union School of Architecture in 1983. Prior to opening her own firm in 2000, she has held the position of Project Designer in several highly regarded firms which include: Rafael Vinoly Architects, Amelio Ambasz Architect, Kim Wang and Associates, Architects, (prior partner at I.M. Pei), Allenbrook Benic Chaika, Architects ( prior partners of Beyer Blinder Belle), and Lauren Ostrow Interiors.

Over the past 15 years since opening her own practice, she has partnered and collaborated on several projects with other Architects and Designers, some of who include: Daniel Koplowitz Architect (The preservation Design Group), Steven Zirinsky Architects, and Edith L Rock Interiors.

After that, she formed a partnership with Christina Weppner Architect as the architecture firm “The Architexture Studio”.

Jeanne has designed and supervised all aspects of a variety of architectural projects both commercial and residential, some of which include the following: The Whitney museum Store, Chin Chin Restaurant in NYC, which received note for excellence in design and cuisine through the NY Times, numerous apartment renovations & combos, lobby & hallway renovations, town houses, residential homes, office space, as well as unique design and detailing of custom cabinetry, furniture, and lighting fixtures.

Publications and awards include a featured project in Metropolitan Home, a featured project in “The Education of an Architect” a Rizzoli publication, The “George Ledley Prize” for Excellence in Design, and was a selected participant for an interschool symposium sponsored by Skidmore Owings and Merrill Architects, titled: “Reimagining The White City”, a 100th anniversary commemoration of the Chicago World Fair.

While working with Raphael Vinoly Architects and Amelio Ambasz Architects, she worked on two competitions that earned “ Both Prestigious Awards.”

Kerrin Willett Interior Designer & Architectural CAD Draftswomen

Kerrin Willett

A former fashion designer, Kerrin decided to follow her true passion and switch her career to interior design several years ago, graduating from the “New York School of Interior Design.” She has spent the past few years working as a design associate and project manager for a number of high end residential boutique designers, honing her skills in both the design and construction sides of the business.

Kerrin does AutoCad and other state of the art drafting softwares .She also is proficient in construction documents, floor plans, furniture plans, RCP’s, elevations, creating specification schedules, sourcing, communication with vendors, creating proposals, expediting purchase orders, arranging deliveries, on-site installations and communication with both clients and contractors.

Kerrin is also a Green AP with the Sustainable Furnishings Council, always keeping an eye towards sustainable, eco-friendly practices and products which is an area that we need to seriously consider, if we plan on doing our part to create more sustainable environments, homes and lifestyles to do our part to save our planet.

About – Henry Roa


Born and raised in Colombia, Henry came to NYC to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Architecture at the “Spitzer School of Architecture at City College” and a Master’s Degree in Interior Design at “The New York School of Interior Design”.

Henry`s background brings a creative and distinctive experience in high-end residential and commercial projects. He has an extended experience with multiple project scales and valued skills in design concept, materials, construction administration and on site problem solving as well as Architectural CAD Design with knowledge and ability with the most up to date design and architectural drawing programs available.
